 SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES


STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED :
Wear proper protective equipment and absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or
earth).
Shovel /sweep up spilled material. Place in a DOT approved
container, dilute with a large quantity of water, for disposal, according to regulatory agencies??
procedures.



WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:
Dilute with plenty of water and dispose via treatment system in accordance with appropriate
local, state, & federal regulations. Do not flush to surface water or sanitary sewer system.



SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE


PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING:
Use adequate ventilation when transferring product from pails or drums. Wear respiratory
protection if ventilation is inadequate or not available. Use eye and skin protection when
contact is expected.
Use clean glass, H.D. Polyethylene plastic or stainless steel scoops only.
Store in a cool, clean, dry place away from point sources of heat e.g. radiant heaters or steam
pipes.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS :
Workers should shower and wear a fresh change of clothing after each shift. Wash all exposed
areas with soap and water before eating and after handling material. In case of fire or
decomposition, deluge with plenty of water to control decomposition.
