Mitochondria is a main organelle for conducting aerobic respiration in the process of metabolism. DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID (cas 100403-24-5) (DNA) plays central roles in the genetic encoding, regulation and expression in the living normal and cancer cells. However, imaging of mitochondria and DNA in biological system is restricted due to lack of functional molecular tools. To address this critical challenge, herein, we developed a single small-molecular fluorescent probe BISEI. This novel probe possessed large Stokes shift, high fluorescence quantum yield, prominent photostability, and excellent two-photon properties. Owing to its excellent properties, the probe BISEI is successfully used to image mitochondria and DNA in the cancer cells, tissues and zebrafish. For the cell imaging, the results showed distribution of the mitochondrial reticular structure; For the tissue imaging, the 3D imaging results firstly exhibited distribution of nuclei in living tissues; For the in vivo imaging, the probe displayed a strong red fluorescence in the chest of zebrafish.
