The dispersion of stratum corneum (SC) into each intact cell was studied in aqueous micellar solutions of N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine (cas 112-18-5) oxide (C12DMAO) solubilizing limonene and was found to be the most effective, especially when the saturated amount of limonene was solubilized in the micellar solution at pH 9.3. This dispersion was considered to be due to stronger solubilization of intercellular lipids in aqueous micellar solutions of C12DMAO solubilizing limonene. Intermolecular interactions in micelles were estimated by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR). The mechanisms for the removal of intercellular lipids such as ceramides, cholesterol and their derivatives, all essential constituents of adhesives, and moreover the dispersion of SC into intact cells were discussed on the basis of the results of solubilization proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) and dynamic light scattering (DLS).
