1314657-40-3 Usage

Description

1,3-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,2-difluoro-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole, also known as PhenoFluor reagent, is a chemical compound with a unique structure that features two 2,6-diisopropylphenyl groups attached to an imidazole core. This reagent is characterized by the presence of a difluoro substituent on the imidazole ring, which plays a crucial role in its chemical properties and applications.

Uses

Used in Deoxyfluorination of Phenols:
1,3-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,2-difluoro-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole is used as a reagent in the deoxyfluorination of phenols. It enables the ipso substitution of phenols to form the corresponding aryl fluorides without the need for substrate activation. This makes the process more efficient and versatile, as it can be applied to a wide range of phenolic substrates.
Used in Deoxyfluorination of Heteroaromatic Phenols:
In addition to its use with phenols, 1,3-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,2-difluoro-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole is also employed in the deoxyfluorination of heteroaromatic phenols. This application expands the scope of the reagent, allowing for the synthesis of a broader range of aryl fluorides from heteroaromatic starting materials.
Used in the Synthesis of Alkyl Aryl Ethers:
1,3-Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,2-difluoro-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazole is used as a reagent in the functional group tolerant synthesis of alkyl aryl ethers from phenols and alcohols. This application highlights the versatility of the reagent, as it can be used in the formation of ether linkages while maintaining the integrity of other functional groups present in the reactants. This property is particularly valuable in the synthesis of complex organic molecules and pharmaceutical compounds, where functional group compatibility is crucial.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1314657-40-3 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,3,1,4,6,5 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1314657-40:
(9*1)+(8*3)+(7*1)+(6*4)+(5*6)+(4*5)+(3*7)+(2*4)+(1*0)=143
143 % 10 = 3
So 1314657-40-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Photochemical activation of SF6 by N-heterocyclic carbenes to provide a deoxyfluorinating reagent

Tomar, Pooja,Braun, Thomas,Kemnitz, Erhard

supporting information, p. 9753 - 9756 (2018/09/10)

The activation of the greenhouse gas SF6 using electron-rich N-heterocyclic carbenes gave 2,2-difluoroimidazolines or 2,2-difluoroimidazolidines as well as 2-thio derivatives of the carbene precursors. The N-heterocyclic carbenes can also convert SF4 to give similar products. The difluoroimidazolidine derivatives were applied in deoxyfluorination reactions. Furthermore, the activation of SF6 and the fluorination can be coupled in a one-pot process to convert 1-octanol into 1-fluorooctane.

Deoxyfluorination of phenols
