9025-70-1 Usage

Description

Dextranase, a glycoside hydrolase enzyme belonging to the glycoside hydrolase families (GH) 49, is primarily derived from fungi such as Penicillium sp. and Chaetomium erraticum. It exhibits stability across a range of temperatures and pH levels, making it suitable for various applications.

Uses

Used in Clinical Applications:
Dextranase is used as an enzyme in the preparation of dextran for clinical use, which is essential for certain medical treatments and diagnostic procedures.
Used in Microbiology:
Dextranase from Penicillium sp. is used for the digestion of exopolysaccharides from P. aeruginosa biofilms and dextran polymers, as well as a component of trypticase soy broth (TSYPS) for Streptococcus mutans culture in microgel degradation.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Dextranase from Chaetomium erraticum is utilized in microcarrier dissolution to produce multicellular 3D spheroids for drug discovery, in the in vitro digestion of extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) from bacterial isolates, and in studies investigating the immobilization and optimization of process conditions for enzymatic modification of alternan.
Overall, Dextranase plays a crucial role in various industries, including clinical, microbiological, and pharmaceutical applications, due to its ability to break down complex carbohydrates and contribute to the development and production of essential products and treatments.

Biochem/physiol Actions

An endodextranase that hydrolyzes -(1,6)-glucosidic linkages in dextran. Dextrans are undesirable compounds synthesized from sucrose by microbial contaminants during sugar production that increase viscosity of the flow and decrease industrial recovery. Dextranase has been used for hydrolyzing dextran at sugar mills in order to improve efficiency of sugar production.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 9025-70-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,2 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9025-70:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*2)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*0)=91
91 % 10 = 1
So 9025-70-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
