2-Chloronaphthalene Specification

2-Chloronaphthalene with cas registry number of 91-58-7 is a kind of organic chloride. It can be metabolized by pseudomonads by the accumulation of Chloro-2-hydroxy-6-oxohexadienoate, and 4-Chlorosalicylatewhich and 5-Chlorosalicylate which do not support growth.

Dechlorination about 2-Chloronaphthalene is studied by Masamichi Akimoto, Hideharu Tanaka, and Akiko Watanabe. When 2-Chloronaphthalene reacts with 1-Chlorohexadecane in water under subcritical temperatures, hydrolysis reactions occurred catalyzed by H+ ions, whereas under supercritical conditions hydrodechlorinations occurred too, in which hydrogens evolved by the reaction of HCI with the metal wall of the reactor participated. The hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis of the primary reaction products also occurred for 1-chlorohexadecane under supercritical conditions. The dechlorination selectivity was nearly 100% for these organic chlorides irrespective of the reaction conditions employed.

1. Storage: Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
2. Handling: Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Use with adequate ventilation. Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Keep container tightly closed.
3. Personal Protection: Eyes: Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166. Skin: Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin exposure. Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure.
