Uses of 4-Ethoxycoumarin: it can be used to produce 6b,12b-diethoxy-6a,6b,12a,12b-tetrahydro-5,11-dioxa-dibenzo[a,b]biphenylene-6,12-dione by irradiation. It will need reagent methylene chloride, benzophenone and solvent CHCl3 with the reaction time of 96 hours. The yield is about 40%.
