This chemical can be produced by the condensation of Benzoin and Anhydrous ether. This chemical is a photosensitizer. It can mainly used in printing industry to produce photosensitive resin plate, in the preparation of solvent, it can be used as a photosensitizer.
Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by diphenylethyne at ambient temperature. This reaction will also produce benzoic acid and diphenylethanedione. It will need reagent H2O2, catalyst MeReO3 and solvent ethanol. The reaction time is 2 day(s). The yield is about 80%.
Uses of Benzoin Ethyl Ether: it can be used to produce 1,2-diphenyl-ethanone at heating. This reaction will need reagent TiCl3, Zn and solvent 1,2-dimethoxy-ethane with reaction time of 4 hours. The yield is about 85%.
