- Pesticidal composition containing a microencapsulated organo-phosphorus or carbamate in a pyrethroid dispersion
-
An insecticidal and/or acaricidal and/or nematicidal composition having a rapid efficacy and residual activity which comprises a mixture of a poorly water-soluble organophosphorus insecticide and/or acaricide and/or nematicide and/or a poorly water-soluble carbamate insecticide and/or acaricide which have been microencapsulated in water-insoluble polymer coatings with a dispersing agent used in forming a microcapsule part, with a poorly water-soluble pyrethroid insecticide and/or acaricide emulsified or suspended in water with the above-mentioned dispersing agent used in forming a flowable part.

- Synthesis of 2-Methoxy-4H-1,3,2-benzodioxaphosphorin 2-Sulfide and related Compounds Utilizing Intramolecular Cyclization Reactions
-
The insecticide salithion (2-methoxy-4H-1,3,2-benzodioxaphosphorin 2-sulfide) and its 4-cyano derivatives were prepared in good yields by utilizing an intramolecular cyclization reaction as the key step. The structures of diastereomers of the 4-cyano derivatives were characterized on the basis of NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis.

- Synthesis of Optically Active Cyclic Phosphorothionates and Phosphoramidothionates with Insecticidal Activity by Using a Chiral Phosphorylating Agent
-
Chiral methyl p-nitrophenyl phosphorochloridothionate (MNPC) was utilized as a phosphorylating agent in the synthesis of optically active cyclic phosphorus esters including the enantiomers of 2-methoxy-4H-1,3,2-benzodioxaphosphorin 2-sulfide (salithion) and four diastereomers of 4-isobutyl-2-methoxy-1,3,2-oxazaphospholidine 2-sulfide (BMOS).Their insecticidal activity decreased in the following order; (S) > (R) in salithion and (S)P(S)C > (S)P(R)C > (R)P(R)C > (R)P(S)C in BMOS.
