substrate specificity of natural IREDs and further extends the
synthetic scope of IREDs in the production of pharmaceuti-
cally relevant chiral amines. Directed evolution and semira-
tional design of ScIR and SvIR are currently ongoing to further
enhance their stability and catalytic efficiency for larger scale
practical manufacture of important chiral 2-aryl-substituted
pyrrolidines.
