combined with the obtained organic solution and dried over
MgSO4. After the solvent was distilled off under reduced presꢀ
sure, a brown oil was obtained in a yield of 10.46 g, being
a mixture of 2ꢀiodothiophene and 2,5ꢀdiiodothiophene (1Н NMR
spectral data). Their molar ratio, which turned out to be 14.0 : 1.0,
was determined from the integral intensities of 2ꢀiodothiophene
6.80 (dd, 1 Н, Н(4))) and 2,5ꢀdiiodothiophene ( 6.91 (s, 2 Н,
Н(4))). According to the 1H NMR spectral data, the yields of
2ꢀiodothiophene and 2,5ꢀdiiodothiophene were 59.6 and 4.3%,
respectively.
