This work evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of

nucleophilic F-incoperation using spirocyclic iodonium
ylides or boronic pinacol esters. In our hands, spirocyclic
iodonium ylides are the superior precursors in respect to
RCC and reproducibility both for aliquot and one-pot
labeling procedures for the early research phase. No toxic
transition metals are required and standard-labeling
conditions for spirocyclic iodonium ylides resulted in all
cases in an acceptable RCC. However, the choice of
precursor is, of course, dependent on the synthetic
accessibility to the precursors.
