Reactions of 2-isopropoxybenzo-1,3-dioxa-2-borole with halogen subtituted schiff bases yield tetra-coordinated, stable complexes of boron.The resulting complexes have been characterised by elemental analyses and molecular weight determinations.The mode of bonding of the schiff base ligands to boron atom has been deduced on the basis of IR, 1H, 13C and 11B NMR spectra.A few of these complexes have been screened for their biocidal activity.
