Synthesis, physicochemical and pharmacological properties of new N-substituted amides of α-piperazine-γ-hydroxybutyric acid

Synthesis and physicochemical properties of new N-substituted amides of α-piperazine-γ-hydroxybutyric acid are described. The compounds were obtained by aminolysis of 3-(4-phenyl) or 4-benzyl)-piperazine-tetrahydrofuran-2-on with primary alkylarylamines. Preliminary pharmacological assessment revealed the activity in two sensorimotor tests for of the novel compounds: N-(4-fluoro) and N-(4-chlorobenzylamide) of α-(4-phenylpiperazine)-γ-hydroxybutyric acid.
