23736-76-7 Usage
General Description
2-Amino-pentanedioic acid 1-tert-butyl ester 5-methyl ester; hydrochloride is a chemical compound with a complex molecular structure. It is an ester derivative of 2-amino-pentanedioic acid, also known as glutamic acid, which is an important neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. The presence of a tert-butyl group and a methyl ester group in the compound enhances its stability and solubility in organic solvents. The addition of a hydrochloride group further increases its solubility in water and makes it suitable for use in pharmaceutical formulations. 2-Amino-pentanedioic acid 1-tert-butyl ester 5-methyl ester; hydrochloride may have potential applications in the development of drugs targeting neurological disorders or other conditions related to glutamate signaling.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 23736-76-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,3,7,3 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 23736-76:
(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*7)+(4*3)+(3*6)+(2*7)+(1*6)=117
117 % 10 = 7
So 23736-76-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The synthesis of α-t-butyl γ-methyl N-trityl-(S)-glutamate (12) from (S)-glutamic acid (6) is described.Diester (12), on treatment with lithium isopropylcyclohexylamide followed by the addition of carbonyl compounds, reacts to give the γ-substituted glutamic acid derivatives (13a-i) with retention of optical purity at the α centre.
