The reaction of the HNF2·KF molecular complex with various fluorinated acyl fluorides gives a new class of compounds, RfC(O)NF2. The totally fluorinated amides CF3C(O)NF2, C2F5C(O)NF2, C3F7C(O)NF2, and F2N(O)C(CF2)3C(O)NF2 as well as the ester CF3CO2C(NF2)2CF3 are reported and characterized. Also, the previously reported amides FC(O)NF2 and CH3C(O)NF2 are easily prepared by this method.
