The invention discloses a synthesis method of 2-chloro-4-fluorotoluene based on a honeycomb filler. The method comprises the following steps of: carrying out a diazotization reaction by using anhydrous hydrofluoric acid as a solvent, 3-chloro-4-methylaniline as a raw material and nitrogen trioxide as a diazotization reagent, and directly carrying out a thermal decomposition reaction; and after the reaction is finished, standing for layering, adjusting an organic layer to be neutral by using a sodium hydroxide solution, carrying out steam distillation and room-temperature layering, and rectifying the organic layer to obtain a target product. According to the method, the nitrogen trioxide is adopted as the diazotization reagent, the solid waste amount is greatly reduced, no high-salinity wastewater is discharged, the production cost is reduced, and the method is more environment-friendly.
