76326-31-3 Usage
Uses
DL-2-Amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid has been used:in the inactivation of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-mediated synapsesused in growth medium for inhibition of electrical activity in the neuronal networkused to isolate N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDAR) or α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor (AMPAR)-mediated currents were isolated using this productused in double distilled water to compare its NMDA antagonistic action with that of prion protein (PrPC)
Definition
ChEBI: The 5-phosphono derivative of 2-aminopentanoic acid; acts as an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonist.
Biological Activity
Potent NMDA antagonist. See separate isomers (D-(-)-2-Amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid and L-(+)-2-Amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid ).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Anticonvulsant; potent and selective NMDA receptor antagonist.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 76326-31-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,3,2 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76326-31:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*6)+(2*3)+(1*1)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 76326-31-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A new method for the preparation of (2R)-2-amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid
Muller,Mann,Taddei
, p. 3289 - 3290 (1993)
A new and efficient synthesis of (2R)-2-amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid(AP5) is reported. Our approach is based on a pseudo-Claisen [2,3] sigmatropic rearrangement of an alkyne phosphite.
Involucrin gene expression promoter

Paragraph 0097; 0101, (2019/03/28)
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an involucrin gene expression promoter that has high effect of promoting involucrin gene expression, and is applied to the skin, to quickly increase involucrin concentrations, and markedly improving the barrier function. SOLUTION: An involucrin gene expression promoter contains at least one selected from a compound represented by the following formula (1) [where R1 and R2 are the same or different to represent a hydrogen atom, or a substituent. n is an integer of 1 or greater], a salt thereof, and their hydrates as an active ingredient.
